Infrastructure Informa on ManagementAs operations evolve over decades, maintaining a coherent “single version of the truth” is critical to performing gap assessments and impact analysis, as well as making key business decisions in the most effi cient and eff ective manner. Infrastructure Management Edition’s information repository uniquely organizes, manages, and inter-relates a wide range of facility and infrastructure information upon which operational effi ciency depends.

Securely manages all infrastructure, asset, and facility information

Equipment locations, variances, dependencies, and setting information

Assembly confi gurations and spare part inventories CAD drawings and Xrefs Compliance requirements and associated regulations Work orders and contracts Change order requests Supplier and contractor information Other project related information

» Technical data, memo’s, and documents » Meeting notes and emails » Internal and external correspondence » Photographs, images, scans, and faxes

Includes full document management capabilities, with search, display, check-in/check-out, version control, and secure electronic distribution

Provides easy to understand informational views based on inter-relationships

Allows CAD drawings and mark-ups to be viewed by all users, not just those who have access to CAD software

Accelerates productivity by allowing users to easily create new or reuse existing asset and infrastructure information

Lascom AEC Infrastructure Management Edition is a browser-based information management solution that cost-eff ectively manages all asset data, drawings, documents, regulatory compliance requirements, and change information across an organization’s facility or operational network. Operations teams using the system save considerable time in searching, validating, sharing and analyzing information, helping them make better decisions and accelerate upgrade and maintenance cycle times. Faster project cycles maximize infrastructure availability and overall return on investments.

Current State: Infrastructure Informa on ManagementMany utility providers, manufacturing plants, and transportation system operators lack an eff ective information management system that provides a holistic view of all infrastructure, asset, and facility information and their inter-dependencies. Existing systems, which often consist of multiple isolated technologies, are rarely adequate for supporting a wide range of change and maintenance related activities in an effi cient manner. Confl icting information stored in diff erent systems means employees waste valuable time trying to determine which version is correct.

When information is not centrally managed, it’s diffi cult to fi nd and often requires specialized personnel to gain access, leading to added workloads for people whose time is already expensive and in short supply. Poor infrastructure information management leads to lower asset availability, higher costs, slower decision making, and greater risks.

Equipment ManagementThe ability to manage specifi c equipment information and their inter-relationships with other assets is a key feature of Infrastructure Management Edition. This enables more advanced impact analysis when planning changes as well as the ability to quickly identify and resolve systemic issues network-wide. Validation process workfl ows can also be used to manage standards compliance, track hazardous substances subjected to special regulations, and monitor performance against best practices for continuous improvement.

Decision Support ToolsOne of the key reasons for deploying a central knowledge base is to help users make more eff ective decisions. To facilitate this, Infrastructure Management Edition provides a powerful set of analysis tools, such as comparisons, where-used, historical views, and audit logs. Being able to capture and quickly identify asset variants, deviations, change history, and workarounds across the full knowledge store accelerates decision making while minimizing risk.

Advanced Search Capabili esInfrastructure and asset information is managed and displayed in an intuitive manner, facilitating access based on a task, project, asset, location, type of information, relationship, or date. Other advanced query capabilities, such as index, keyword, and full text search are also provided in addition to unique Lascom AEC features such as “Smart View”.

Change ManagementThe AEC Infrastructure Management Edition incorporates a powerful change management tool which can be used to facilitate and track the decision process associated with every change in a plant, facility, or asset. When a change request is initiated, related items which could be impacted are instantly identifi ed thereby reducing risk and accelerating the change review process. Once a change is approved, impacted items are fl agged to ensure resolution.

Drawing Approval Process ManagementInfrastructure Management Edition can also help manage CAD drawing review and approval processes through automated workfl ows. Successive markups are dynamically incorporated when reviewed, ensuring the latest information is always presented. This approach streamlines collaboration, facilitates project oversight, and accelerates project cycles while reducing costs and risk.

CAD So ware Integra onIntegration with Autodesk’s AutoCAD® and Bentley’s MicroStation® enable users to work within their familiar CAD software interfaces while their drawings, Xrefs, and data are being centrally and securely managed by the system’s central repository. Features of these integrations include accessing the repository’s document search and retrieve functions directly through the CAD interface and synchronization of repository data with the CAD drawing’s title block. Application independent viewing allows non-CAD software users to directly access and view CAD drawings, resulting in greater productivity and collaboration.

Desktop and Back-Offi ce Integra onIntegrations with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook facilitate central information management, while eliminating re-keying, minimizing user training, and leveraging the specialized data entry, calculation, formatting, and viewing capabilities these productivity tools provide. Specialized integrations with ERP, CRM, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul), and other back-offi ce systems are also available.
