Wilson’s disease is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait, which means that in order to develop the disease one must inherit two procreations of the defective gene, one from each parent. If a person receives only one abnormal gene from either of the parents, he/she is not likely to get affected by the Wilson’s disease. Wilson’s disease may be difficult to primarily diagnose as the symptoms are alike to other health issues like heavy metal poisoning, hepatitis C, and cerebral palsy.
