Course Description

This lively hands-on class will educate you about the profession of meeting and event planning by introducing you to the basic elements of the industry through statistics, facts and figures and case studies. Learn what it takes to get started as an event professional, what job opportunities exist and how to establish a career path within the profession.

Discussions will emphasize best practices and trends in the industry, as well as common pitfalls to avoid. Discover resources, associations and online social networking tools that can help you grow in your career.

You will have the opportunity to produce your own event with the help of fellow classmates. 

The course is led by award-winning event planner Qualena Odom-Royes, CSEP, CMP and features dynamic industry guest speakers.
