Cellulite...Cellulite is a dysfunction of the internal connective tissue layer, due tothe depositing of water and fats which gives rise to a vascular alterationof the venous return and lymphatic system.

This condition affects 95% of women, both slim and obese.

Men also suffer from abdominal and lumbar cellulite or abdominal lipodystrophy. Due to “hormonal differences”, men do not have the same structure and appearance as women, but they also suffer from its consequences.

If not treated in time, it tends to become chronic.

Cellulite... DIFFERENT PHASES and STAGES

Stage one: The venous and lymphatic microcirculation slows down.

Stage two: The vasodilatation process causes the venous and lymph vessels to become permeable, leading to an imperceptible loss of fluids in the interstitial space.

Stage three: The fluids become dense and thick, impeding the exchange of nutrients between adipocytes and veins. The adipocytes grow in size, due to inability to eliminate waste products in the bloodstream.

Stage four: cause of fibrosis. A network that encloses adipocytes, venous and lymphatic vessels which cause the exchange of nutrients between cells more difficult.

Stage five: The fibrosis evolves and generates macro nodes, giving rise to the appearance of cellulite, or “orange peel skin”.

Genetic or hereditary factors

A family history of obesity which favours the development of the cellulite.

Lack of exercise or sedentary life-styles

It may aggravate the situation.

Inadequate eating habits

A high-calorie diet will cause an increase in weight and in the number of adipocytes.

Stress The build-up of stress poses difficulties for the blood circulation, preventing the elimination of exchange and waste products.

Consuming alcohol and smoking

Increase in the quantity of toxins absorbed by the body. Alcohol prevents the correct elimination of waste. Smoking has negative effects on the blood circulation.

Wearing inappropriate clothing

Tight-fitting garments or high heels cause problems in the blood circulation and venous return, causing an increase in oedema.

Hormonal factors Development of cellulite is related to high oestrogen levels, causing oedema or fluid retention. Puberty, pregnancy, menopause, premenstrual syndrome and using contraceptive pills are all causes in which the hormones suffer alterations. These circumstances trigger or aggravate cellulite.

FIBROUS OR COMPACT CELLULITE

This type of cellulite is habitually located in the upper hip area. Skin looks terse, but has a granulated texture and the appearance of orange peel, which is not altered when walking.

Cellulite has a compact, consistent appearance, and looks as if it is attached to the muscle. It is usually painful when pressed.

With respect to cosmetic treatments, one of the best remedies for this type of compact cellulite is mesotherapy.

It is distinguished by alterations in temperature which causes a sensation of heat or cold in the affected areas.

SOFT or OEDEMATOUS CELLULITE

Oedematose cellulite is more difficult to eliminate, especially over the years. It is due to poor circulation and above all, to fluid retention, in which makes legs lose their shape and become straight.

The treatment commences by preparing the skin, using a body scrub to eliminate dead cells and to facilitate the absorption of main ingredients applied.

SILHOUETTE REMODELING BANDAGES

Begin with the Silhouette Remodeling Bandages starting at the knees and ending at the abdomen. Leave them on for 20 -30 minutes. Optionally, to heighten the draining effect, we recommend combining the bandaging with pressure therapy.
