So you want to make regular money with your Empower Network blog (or any blog, really)… But what to blog about?

Is the old advice of “just blog daily” not cutting it?

Are you not seeing results?

Most of what I see is just random, general blogging and put simply, and from the perspective of this free traffic expert: it doesn’t work.

That’s because one of the things the Google looks for is whether your blog is on topic.

Google’s smart. Really smart.

And as aspiring brainiacs ourselves, we definitely want to hang out with the smartest folks. (Or outsmart them.)

I mean, when we’re really good friends with a smart and powerful “person” like Google, it gives us all kinds of stuff… one of them being tons and tons of traffic which is results in tons more money.

Page 2: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

We’re happy friends! Like with anything in the world… every relationship… there are rules and boundaries to being Google’s friend.

But those rules aren’t hard to figure out.

And I’m not just going to just leave you clues as to how to do it, either.

I’m going to tell you everything I know that works, right here.

Mostly, you just gotta be cool, normal, valuable.

And most people on this planet are cool, friendly, good people, so there’s an extremely high chance you’re already in that category.

But now you gotta channel it properly, which is what I’ll help you do.

Cool Rule #1 to Hit It Off with Google

By being cool, I mean write for people. Write value-based.

(Wow, that was easy.)

Cool Rule #2

The other rule is consistency.

Google isn’t friends with dilly-dallyers.

Google needs to see you show up every day like it’s your job.

’Cause, well, it is.

Google ranks blogs higher that serve a specific purpose and have a core theme.

I know that a lot of us were told by some leaders of Empower Network to just blog daily no matter what it is… just blog about anything.

If you ask me, this is bad advice.

The method of “blog daily about anything” will not make you any money (or, if anything, very little) in your business simply because you should be targeting buyers with your posts.

The advice these leaders are giving is like an old-school MLMer training the new recruit that “every person within 30 feet of you is a prospect.”

It’s soul-sucking and time-wasting. It’s a recipe for failure and it’s irresponsible.

Talk about crushing people’s dreams! I think these leaders just don’t know any better. But I do.

So let me tell you what really works from someone who’s proved it.

I know from experience that you’ve got to target buyers if you want to make money.

This is a “must do.” It’s always about quality over quantity.

Page 3: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

To make money blogging, the quality of your leads matters more than the quantity. The quality of your blog’s traffic is more important than quantity.

Same with P90X, the exercise program I used to get ripped… quality of each move over quantity.

Focus your initial efforts and energy on quality.

Once you have quality down, then you work on quantity.

You can’t jump around blogging about cats, current events and your favorite music videos and then over to an affiliate marketing tutorial or a blogging tutorial.

That just doesn’t work.

Quality might take hours at first, like it did for me. But it gets easier, it gets faster and hours turn into minutes.

Suddenly you’re producing quality content as fast as if it were second nature, like walking, riding a bike or all other skills we each have.

That’s your brain for you… always learning and growing… being shaped by your actions and intentions.

Yay for brains! One of the first things I learned when I got in to online marketing was to choose a theme you’ll build your site around.

Research and choose a topic, a “seed keyword” your site will be about.

Most often, you’ll choose something you know… a hobby, an industry, a specialization, something you want to learn… then you’ll research the words related to these topics/ideas and see how deep and wide you could build your site.

The point is to become an authority on your subject in your voice.

You’ll dominate your niche.

But if you’re out blogging generally about anything and everything that’s happening in the world, you will not attain authority anywhere.

And Google won’t rank you.

Just below, we’ll cover the three basic blog structures and what you can blog about that will actually bring targeted buyers seeking your product.

When you blog generally about just anything, like what you had for breakfast that morning, or what funny thing your sister did the other day, and about general news or politics… when you’re jumpin’ around from subject to subject… Google sees that as not valuable, not worthy of their audience's attention.

That sort of blogging just ain’t gonna cut it.

Google’s not gonna cut you a check (visitors) for all your hoppin’ around, no matter how interesting your life is.

Google “pays people” who...

Page 4: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

… 1) write for people and provide value and

… 2) are consistent.

The way Google sees it is there’s no reason for you to be anywhere in any sort of organized ranking in their search results if your blog is about nothing in particular. They’re just not going to list you.

They’re too smart for you to jump around from subject to subject and have any organic success.

More importantly, say you do get some traffic from some of these random blog posts you’re putting out… those people aren’t going to be ready to buy anything from you.

You might be able to get them to your squeeze page or your opt-in page at the end of your post or somewhere in your post, but is he/she a quality lead?

Is she a buyer who had raised her hand saying, “I’m a [secretary] seeking a way to [quit my job] or [make more money] or [fire my boss] or [work from home] or [be an entrepreneur] or [get sales training] or [invest in real estate] or ….”

Did you target her? Did she come to your blog because you had the information she was looking for? Nope.

Chances are, with the “I’m-blogging-daily-because-my-sponsor-told-me-to” method, she found your no-topic blog randomly as she was looking for entertainment or news. Don’t waste your time and energy blogging for people who aren’t looking for what you have.

Unless you're out to inspire them, show them the light, help them escape the matrix. (That's a niche, you know.)

What you really want are buyers, the way a hot tub vendor wants hot tub buyers.

And what I teach here – what you must do – is just a smart way of conducting any business.

Here’s a little bit of business 101… You need to set up your shop for people looking for what you have; for the people you want to serve.

Whom are you going to serve?

The answer to that determines what you’ll blog about, and how.

People just don’t go from looking for entertainment or news to all of a sudden buying a $1000 product from you.

They’re not walking around going, “Gosh, I wish somebody would sell me some online marketing education.” (http://yourbrainonyou.com/empower-network/) It doesn’t generally happen. Or very rarely.

Targeting buyers is just effective business.

So an example I like to think of is: say you’re selling hot tubs. If you’re selling hot tubs your message is hot tubs.

You know about hot tubs. Your message is the benefits of hot tubs, of name brands like Jacuzzi.

Your message is comfort, lavishness and pleasure.

It’s an inefficient use of time to just start hunting down people who aren’t in the market for hot tubs.

It’s a waste of energy, a waste of power, a waste of soul to “pitch” people or sell to people who just don’t give a

Page 5: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

care.

Your best bet is to set up shop and advertise (blogging is basically free value-based advertising, educational marketing) so that people who are looking for hot tubs come to you.

No use in trying to get the person who’s heading to a pet store to buy a turtle, or who’s going to the jewelry store.

These are not people who are in the market for hot tubs, so don’t go about targeting them.

Target people in your audience. Knowing who your audience is is crucial.

Same thing applies to any business.

Take for example a RadioShack or any electronics store. Fry’s electronics.

These businesses aren’t talking to or trying to bring in people who are looking for a new bed or people looking for a new pair shoes, or a new pet, or jewelry.

They’re talking to people who need electronics.

So you always want to have the message of your blog – your shop – always on point.

Google likey. Google ranks high they who are topically on point.

Don’t skip around.

Don’t try selling shoes to somebody who’s in the market for a new TV.

So let’s go over the three blogging strategies that will keep you and your message on point, thereby attracting buyers with credit card in hand.

Blogging strategy number one – Product based blog

So again, if you were selling hot tubs you would write about everything that your hot tub niche needs to know, regarding specific products.

You target the most frequently asked questions and you provide answers.

You’d use keyword research to target the exact phrases these qualified people are typing in to their search bar.

If you were blogging about Empower Network you would base your blog around Empower Network products.

You would use any keyword tool to search for Empower Network keyword phrases, or key phrases. And you come up with a list of phrases that you write about.

You blog specifically about those. You answer all the questions that you can about these inquiries.

You make your answers complete. This will turn you and your online “shop” into an authority blog on this product or company, in this case Empower Network.

Or hot tubs.

Or any other MLM business or any home business that you are in.

Page 6: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

You want to be an authority not just some ho-hum wandering soul, off point all the time.

As the great Ziglar said, “It’s better to be a meaningful specific than a wandering generality.”

There are drawbacks to this this method of blogging.

The two biggest drawbacks are competition and income ceiling.

Competition will be high generally for many product-based keywords.

Income ceiling is when there is only a limited number of searches per month for this product, so if you’re going to go for product-based marketing you’ll want to be ready to compete with the big boys.

The big players are on top. That’s just for warning, but not a discouragement.

If you want to go big with this strategy I recommend pouring your all into an Empower Network based blog.

But know, going in, that you’re in for some stiff competition and it may take you a while to rank high (even following my blogging formula) because this is a popular topic and a high-priced moneymaking product.

In fact, for members of my Cream Team (http://yourbrainonyou.com/partner/), I'll give you a bunch of Empower Network buyer keywords that have low enough competition for you to rank, that I dug up.

Why don't I take them myself? I've taken a couple (you can still rank with me, on the same front page), but mostly, I'm just selfless and want you to win.

But maybe you have a business that is a bit smaller and has less competition.

For instance I used to be in a wellness MLM company and I created a blog around it.

I actually took down the blog (rather than fixing the problem) because of legal issues.

The legal department claimed that I was making claims and that wasn’t allowed by the FCC.

(No, I wasn’t spamming or hyping. In fact, all I was doing was showing the scientific studies that “authorized” entities of my company were showing. I wasn’t authorized to do this, I suppose. Live and learn...)

Keep in mind that you have to be very careful, especially in the wellness MLM industry, of what you say and what you claim.

MLMs follow the law to the letter and can’t have their reputations on the line by a few independent distributors.

There are rules. My recommendation: always, always, always market/blog ethically and legally.

These wellness products must be very careful about that and need to check and completely adhere to that because your distributorship can get shut down.

For instance, with Empower Network I regularly give an income disclaimer (http://yourbrainonyou.com/income-disclaimer/) that I cannot guarantee, by joining Empower Network, that you’ll make any money.

Second blogging strategy – Your Pocket of People / Your Target Audience

Find your target audience in write for them. Here’s how…

Page 7: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

Depending on what you have experience in or what your goal for your blog is, you need to find the people that you want to serve.

So, for instance, maybe you’re in an MLM wellness company. You could search anything health MLM or wellness MLM related and find out what specific questions your audience is asking and target those keywords.

Because people are searching for those keywords, you want to position yourself as an authority in that niche for that specific category, that specific pocket of people or group of people.

Always target buyers.

That’s the point of business. Business exists to serve buyers, to serve people’s needs.

Get creative here. If you create a category of one you will dominate your niche and you will be the authority in that sub niche.

For instance if you are a teacher that’s looking to make more money (because you're underpaid!) you can research keywords related to “make more money as a teacher,” put your own spin and experience into your articles/videos, and position Empower Network or your service or our Cream Team (http://yourbrainonyou.com/partner/) as the solution to their problems and desires (yes, if you're on my team, you can use all of my training and Cream Team bonuses as your own incentive for your prospects... the more the merrier).

Or maybe you're in real estate and you want to help more people in real estate make more money.

Or perhaps you are a construction worker and you know about construction and you want to help construction workers make more money.

You can target any field that you’ve been in or know about.

And this is a good place to start because that's where you have experience.

And what happens when you target a pocket of people that you know? You now have an audience of people (who are buyers) that you can relate to really well.

Now you can talk directly to them. And with your blog that’s always the best route: to talk directly to them and identify with them.

You know what they’re thinking, you know what they’re searching for. You know their frustrations. You know what they want.

You can help them especially because you have experience in that industry. This is a great connecting point for you and your audience. A place of trust.

So simply search for all keywords related to “make more money as a construction worker” or plumber or… anything like that. This will bring you new ideas AND keyword phrases you can use.

Position Empower Network, in your voice and from your perspective, as the solution for the audience who has the same needs as you.

Write about the industry that you’re in, whether it’s nursing or teaching or construction or the service industry – that’s one that I was in – and write about how to make more money, or the mindset, or what it takes to succeed here.

You're educating, inspiring, and engaging.

Page 8: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

The huge benefit to this is that you are personally identifying and bonding with the people in your target audience. Engagement.

Here, it’s almost like you’re talking to (and for) yourself.

This has been my favorite way of blogging, but the big drawback is that there is less income potential with this method.

And that’s because you’re only targeting a very specific group of people. There might only be 100 monthly searches for people in the service industry looking for another way to make more money.

Or maybe you’re unemployed and writing about unemployment...

Yet the big benefit that goes with that drawback is that you need fewer customers and fewer leads to make money because you’re so targeted and you so identify with these people that these people, when they come to you on your blog and hear your message and get to know you, it’s like you’re talking directly to them because you have experience in the field that they’re in.

And that's a huge win. It's engagement, and Engagement = Trust.

So you need far fewer people to come in and purchase from you in order to make a lot of money, especially with a high-end offer like Empower Network.

So yes, the drawback is certainly far less search volume and you will not be able to scale it up as much but on the other hand if you’re really looking to make money quicker than getting into a big niche and you want to dominate that sub niche and become forever the authority on that sub niche, then this is the way to go

Speedy profits. Cement your position as the go-to person in that niche or sub-niche.

After you're rolling in the dough and the Lifestyle Freedom you can now afford from that one small niche you now dominate, from there you can build a bigger, broader blog, targeting even more people you can relate to.

You dominate because you relate so well to the people you’re writing for.

Said again:

You can start small and manageable, make some money quickly, become solvent – getting enough to quit your job – and then scale it up and start a new blog in a bigger niche with another of these three strategies.

With this method you could have 10, 12, 15 leads come to your website and may be making $10,000+ a month with a big ticket product like Empower Network. You just don’t need that many people when you’re properly targeted!

Small is always better. It's always manageable.

Gives new meaning to “write what you know,” huh? :-)

You just don’t need hundreds and hundreds of leads because these are very highly targeted people whom you are relating to.

Starting small first and later building big once you have the chops – this may be the best route to go for most people. It’s just easier to write what you know.

It’ll also take you less time to dominate your sub-niche because of the limited number of posts you can do. You’ll gain authority quickly if you follow my High End Blogging Secrets (http://yourbrainonyou.com/squeeze/?blog-

Page 9: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

about-pdf).

The third strategy of blogging: Relieving Pain

This means that you want to write for an audience who needs help in an area; who needs problems solved.

You’re targeting their problems and either these are problems that you’ve experienced before which you know about or simply problems you can help with.

Here’s a cool thing you may or may not have heard: all humans are wired to make decisions based more on the relief of pain rather than the addition of pleasure.

For example, say you’re selling beds. Would you rather buy the bed advertised as “complete relief of all back pain, get a full night’s sleep, no more tossing and turning,” or the bed that says “it’s so soft you’ll feel like you’re floating on clouds.

The first one addresses pain and the second one addresses pleasure.

Give me relief of my pain any day!

Another example: acne cream.

Same thing… you “get rid of horrible, red, splotchy, painful acne” or “your face will feel incredibly smooth and shine brighter than ever”?

This third category is a very good one because you can help people who are looking to make more money.

Or you can help people who want to fire their boss.

… or who want to get out of debt.

… or people who are looking to get out of bankruptcy.

… or people who need out of their soul-sucking corporate job.

… or people who need to pay off their credit cards.

… or avoid losing their home.

There are folks who are making six figures but they’re completely miserable and hate their job and you can help them, too.

You blog about their pain, their problems.

And you position your product, your service, or your self as the solution for their problem. But it's about them, not your product.

For instance if you’re selling Empower Network, Empower Network would be the solution for their problems.

“Tired of grinding away at an awful job. Feeling hopeless about your future? Feeling empty because you’re not doing what you want? Tired of waiting for life to happen? Let me show you how I dominated these feelings and turned my life around. I’ll even personally help you turn your _____ around.”

Or, “Thanks again so much for watching this (or reading this). I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed creating

Page 10: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

it for you. If this sounds like you, then you're clearly serious about [RESULTS] and that's why [PRODUCT] might be a good fit for you. [DISCUSS BENEFITS].”

Or, “You know, you're obviously really serious about [results], and I just want to take the time to acknowledge you for that. Most people never take the time to educate themselves the way you have. You're online, you're watching/reading this right now, and you really have the commitment and determination to do this now. That's why you're perfect for [PRODUCT / SERVICE]. It's specifically for people like you who want to [RESULT] because [BENEFITS].”

And you’ll just position yourself that way.

Maybe you’ve experienced living in poverty and you want to help people get out of poverty and into power.

Or maybe you have experience with debt or bankruptcy.

Or maybe you don’t have experience and you can just imagine how you would love to help.

So you wax philosophical on your blog, and write about real, possible solutions and ideas.

Answer your readers questions. Answer your questions.

If you’re curious about a field, start learning that field everyday and write/teach what you learn.

It is literally as simple as that.

YOU have questions about stuff. Other people do to, about that exact same stuff.

All it takes is being willing to do the work, study the field, and boom, you’re helping folks. And making more money than any boss could ever pay you.

Financial and Lifestyle Freedom is yours by Serving Others from your Gifts and Talents and Passions.

Don’t want to study? Consider this article where I compare Empower Network with College and my experience with both (http://yourbrainonyou.com/empower-network-vs-college/).

You can talk from experience or imagination, really.

The downside to this strategy is that there are fewer buyers here.

But, you could find a unique way of presenting the info they’re searching for by digging through keywords, thus finding more search volume and less competition than the other two strategies.

Remember: creating a category of one (you) is extremely potent and powerful and distinguishes you.

Just choose the field you’re going to do this in and keep it targeted to what they in that field need, which will help you shape authority and expertise in that field relieving people’s pain with your solution.

Your blogging strategy is absolutely crucial to understand before you begin blogging, before you do your keyword research, and before your first post. Read this post over again and determine which method you’ll use and then zoom in and target your audience using your keyword research tool.

I use Keyword Researcher and Longtail Pro Platinum. And Übersuggest.

Really think about who you want to serve and what you already know (or are willing to learn).

Page 11: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

You’ll probably have several ideas. Jot these down.

Then do your keyword research following this tutorial (http://yourbrainonyou.com/target-audience-buyer-keyword-phrases/) and see how the competition is and if there’s demand for your choices.

If in doubt, go with a category of one… You will definitely dominate and “authoritize” that sub-niche and attract buyers to you. There won’t be any question that you rule there.

To summarize

What do I blog about to make boatloads of cash from my Empower Network blog?

I just hooked you up with a $1000 coaching session for free. I hope you realize the value in this post.

What you usually see when you look at any random Empower Network blog is random blog posts, with no real central theme.

One day it's about How to Blog for Money, then the next is a post on Affiliate Marketing, then the next is a post about My Cat, then the next is How I Brush My Teeth...

Blogging randomly is not a business just like hitting up random people / “prospects” at Wal-Mart or the mall is not a business.

Blogging randomly is a strategy for failure.

Blogging on purpose is a strategy for success.

And remember, when you target buyers and relate to them from your heart and mind, you don’t need many sales to make a boatload of monthly cash.

To target buyers, I recommend writing essentially to/for yourself.

You’ll build rapport with your audience a lot better this way because ya’ll are so similar.

But… you also have to take into account your skill level as a blogger, your goals, your experiences, your keyword research, and your passions.

What are your specialties? If you have something you’ve done in your life, like sticking through college or through an exercise program... anything that required devotion… Use that as your voice. Your power.

You need to stick with your blogging for the long haul. If you don’t put the work in and determine who you’re targeting, what your blog is about, you’re not going to get very far.

So make sure your blog posts are on point, on target all the time.

There’s HUGE money in it. Don’t forget that!!!

You’ll do fine if you choose one of the methods, stick with it, and do it to serve people.

And you’re in luck, ’cause that’s what I specialize in helping people do.

That’s what I’m doing here… I’m a high ticket blogging tutor. A life-changer. I’m doing the third strategy.

So what am I doing? You might wonder...

Page 12: Definitive Empower Network Blogging Guide: I Want to Make Money Blogging so What Should I Blog About?

“Drew, are you one of those people who tells what to do but does something different? Are you telling me to target a smaller group of people while you're here aiming for a bigger pool of people?”

And I say in response: how devoted are you? How big do you want to go?

I knew what I was getting into when I chose a large, highly competitive niche. I know that not everyone in the niche I chose is a buyer.

But I chose to go BIG because I have a big vision for what my blog is going to be, plus, I chose the most challenging for myself because I want to grow.

I know the type of person I am becoming through intention and discipline. And I want my blog to not only reflect that, but aid in the process / journey of becoming who I want.

I'm a self-improvement freak. I don't stop. I keep moving forward toward my visions and dreams, no matter what size they are. They just happen to be pretty big.

But my niche is still pretty unique… at least on paper.

With yourbrainonYOU, I'm going all out and positioning myself not only as a business blogging pro, but also as a guy who is trying to be constantly spiritually inspired.

My blog is about being human, being inspired, taking control of your life and your income with legitimate blogging/communication skills, escaping the Matrix, bucking the status quo, and living a better life in ALL dimensions.

I positioned myself using my past experience as a tutor to inform my current circumstances.

BOOM!

That’s a long-term strategy for me. I'll be building this blog for years to come.

If you want to go big, then go big!

I just often see people succeed easier and quicker when they go smaller.

I’d rather see someone make a few thousand a month quickly with a smaller blog than have a blog capable of pulling hundreds of thousands of dollars, but not making a dime… because they couldn’t rank it.

Anything worth a damn is going to take work to achieve.

I want to help make it easier for you. I want to help you find the right niche for YOU that you can dominate.

… thoroughly dominate. And have fun doing it.

This niche exists, and we’ll find yours. Together. One on one. (http://yourbrainonyou.com/partner/)

Do you have what it takes to stick with it and give big and prolonged effort? I hope so.

Because you'll reap the rewards.

Remember “cool rule” #2? Be consistent.

Consistency. I want to help you do it.
