A b school may be able to provide students with several advantages , some of which may be intangibles . Alumni of any b school represent one such resource for both their Alma maters and its current students . This presentation looks at how b schools in Europe make use of their alumni networks and ensure constant alumni interaction which results in a knowledge and opportunity boost for their students

•The National Alumni Associations supports its members with a wide range of professional and social activities

•The INSEAD Alumni Association(symbol on left ) is the umbrella body and coordinates all 46 NAAs

• Clubs are both national and global• Alumni Interest Groups serve to increase contacts between alumni

working in same industry • Volunteer driven • Clubs are both national and global • They organize a range of professional and social activities

ALUMNI FUND

•INSEAD alumni fund serves to encourage philanthropy in the Alumni committee

•An important vehicle through which alumni contribute

•Donations ensure that the school has state of the art facilities and high research output

•Prizes given as per donated amount , good coverage in alumni magazine

ALUMNI MAGAZINE

•Focused exclusively on alumni , usually about 25 pages

•Gives news such as start-ups , awards won by current students , their accomplishments etc

•Tries to tingle nostalgia by having guest writers tell how INSEAD helped them make it big

•Reports the important changes in administration such as deans appointments

•Class reunions – These are held every 5 years and the oldest classes also have 55 year reunions

•Alumni Forums – In these , INSEAD Alumni share their professional expertise . Current theme is Asia: The next act .

•Global INSEAD day (12th September) –Alumni across the globe reach out to each other and remember their unique experiences

•It provides a forum for exchange of ideas and also keeps college bonds alive

•Held in 2 locations across the world , chosen yearly

•Market intelligence – Latest news and research on a variety of topics is provided to Alumni

•Wednesday webcasts –interviews on latest topics , broadcast on a weekly basis

•IMD through leadership –Management practices from the best companies across the world

•Certificate of lifelong learning – A certificate is awarded to alumni who are seen to have gained essential leadership capabilities

•Alumni Directory – The Alumni directory is available only to past students of IMD and is tightly controlled

•Alumni clubs – There are 40+ Alumni clubs worldide . Average activity is 3-5 events per club

•Alumni events – These serve to exchange ideas and provide exposure to peers

•Official LinkedIn group-These are made program specific and the group is exclusively for alumni . Great care is taken to verify all alumni

•Use of IESE facilities- IESE makes its campus facilities available to Alumni

•Coaching session – More recent alumni are given access to senior alumni whom they may approach for career guidance

•Chaplaincy- for alumni interested in religion

•Professor consultation – Alumni may pose question to professors who give them the know how to solve it

•The platform is Exclusive for IESE alumni

•The monthly newsletter is a direct channel of contact between the alumni and b school .IESE related news is given

•Alumni Magazine is a quarterly publication that highlights the latest news on the school’s vibrant alumni community. It is published in English and Spanish

•The magazine has a print run of more than 40,000 copies.
