Take the time to read dozens of different blogs: note the colors, graphics and drawings to get an idea of whatyou like. Also note that some bloggers are long-winded and others are short and to the point . . . others are justchatty and entertaining and have no particular point to make . . . this is also a personal style, you can choose.

You need a host for your blog, some are free, some charge a small fee per month for their service, some are easyto use and some require more expertise, some have more features than others; choose carefully, once you haveestablished your blog and have some regular readers do not want to change their address (URL).

You may or may not want to use your real name on your blog, it depends on many factors, and not the least ofwhich is your position on controversial issues and how they wish to be publicly identified their views.

Unrealistic expectations ! If you come to blogs that expect immediate results: a large number of players andmany rave reviews, you may be disappointed. There are tens of thousands of blogs online vying for the sameaudience. Patience and pertinacity are essential on your part. If you write well, find a niche to fill, have catchytitles for your posts and tirelessly promote your blog readers and comments (some are free) will come.

Lose focus! When you started your blog, you had a specific reason to do so; I could express their views on anissue or it could have been communicating only with a close circle of friends about their daily activities. Readerscome to your blog for the first time, or are interested in your topic or not, is like his style or not and if they like thetheme and style can comment and then come back later. Once you have established a theme and tone for yourblog that you are free to change it, but to do that, you’re basically starting all.

Note that you can have more than one blog, each dedicated to a specific topic and each, if desired, with a differentidentity.

Plagiarism! There are some great bloggers out there and while browsing through blogs that you can find one thatsays something really good, something that resonated with you and something you want to put on your blog. NOTjust copy and paste someone’s words on your blog without giving them credit, making it look to the world that thewords are yours. If you write it, I write it in your own words and write better, adding their own thoughts and feelingsand then mercy, mentioning where you got the idea and provide a link.

Ignoring the reader! Some of those who browse your blog will leave comments; some readers will agree with youand some readers may even rent their ideas, but most choose a point that you made and criticize. People leavecomments on other blogs for the same reason they blog, share ideas and express their opinions. Always answeryour reader comments; we thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment (even the harshest critics)and then respond, if necessary, to your comment. If you ignore your readers’ comments may end up ignoring yourblog.
