Electrical interconnection between cells is done using a fully automated TeamTechnik Tabber/Stringer TT2500. •  Interconnection

material is Ulbrich tinned precision copper flat wire.

•  Infrared soldering •  +/-1℃ soldering

temperature •  Cell pre-heating and

active cooling ensure long-term material integrity.

Electro Luminescence

•  Sovello are the Only Ontario made modules conducting in-line EL testing on every single module manufactured.

•  Reverse voltage on panel.

•  Panel emmits IR light (non visible infra-red light).

•  IR camera shows possible cracks, shunts and cell breakage.

•  Hot/Dead spots easily identified by failure catalogue.

•  Instant detection of non-visible quality failures. •  Preventing short circuit failures. •  Used to ensure manufacturing ‘equipment

acceptance’ of post lamination processes. Downstream steps are verified on a regular basis to verify consistent quality of manufacturing equipment.

Lamination & Cooling Process

22

Powering Canada

•  Superior, even lamination process.

•  Defects and inconsistencies prevented by active cooling.

2 Stage Bürkle Laminator •  Circulated thermal oil provides uniform platen

temperature (+/- 2°). •  Controlled cooling of modules under pressure

preventing module from warping, lamination bubbles and incomplete material combination.

•  Uniform and repeatable process control.
