6th February, 2014, New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) today unveiled the New
Etios Cross at the 12th Auto Expo in Greater Noida. The New Etios Cross is on display along with
the New Corolla Altis and all other Toyota exhibits at the Toyota Booth in the Auto Expo. The
New Etios Cross will further expand the Etios family along with its existing models- The Etios, the
Liva & the Liva 1.5 TRD Sportivo.
The new Etios Cross has the design appeal of an SUV (rugged looks) to appeal to Youth who want
to stand out. Available in a powerful 1.5 L & 1.2 L petrol engine and a 1.4L D-4D Diesel engine,
the new crossover from Toyota is positioned as a youthful yet rugged offering and has the
following key features:

The New Etios Cross is available in a new sporty Inferno Orange and seven other colors-
Ultramarine Blue, Classic Grey, Symphony Silver, Celestial Black, White, Vermilion Red &
Harmony Beige. Along with a set of whole new exciting features, the Etios Cross also ensures the
highest standards of safety with dual front SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and the globally renowned
promise of Toyota’s QDR (Quality, Durability & Reliability) standards.
Etios Cross is available with the following engine options
1.5 L Petrol (DOHC) - 66KW (90 PS) @ 5600 rpm
1.2 L Petrol (DOHC) – 59KW (80 PS) @ 5600 rpm and
1.4 L Diesel (D4D) – 50 KW (68 PS) @ 3800 rpm
The vehicle is being offered in two grades each in petrol and diesel.
Speaking on the occasion of its unveiling, Mr. Akio Nishimura, Chief Engineer, TMC said, “The
Etios was introduced in India with a vision to offer the Indian market a quality Toyota vehicle at
an affordable price. As this vehicle category has been increasingly growing, the needs of the
customers have also diversified. Keeping this in mind, we at Toyota strived to understand the
customer needs for a cross and came up with the Etios Cross which is a perfect combination of
rugged styling, performance, functions, features and the promise of Toyota’s global standards of
QDR.
Aimed towards targeting a whole new breed of audience who seek uniqueness & individuality in
everything they do, we believe the Etios Cross will further strengthen & stand a testimony to
Toyota's QDR in India”.
Also speaking on this occasion, Mr. Naomi Ishii, Managing Director, TKM said, “The Etios series is
a perfect combination of Toyota's global standards of quality & safety. Inheriting the Corolla
Altis's high standards of QDR, the Etios has come a long way ever since its introduction in India. It
caters to a wider segment of the market with its array of quality vehicles in the series.
Launched in 2010, the Etios series has a strong base of over 2 lakh happy customers in India and
to further enhance this customer delight the Etios Cross was envisaged as we wanted to give our
customers something unique. Targeted as a youthful, rugged and practical crossover, the New
Etios Cross is bound to win hearts of our customers all over again”.
The prices of the New Etios Cross will be announced in May 2014 along with the sales launch.
