My Arrival

Austin’s colony promised us more land than we have ever had. We had also found out that we can pay it within 3 years instead of right away. We all started packing right away, we had wanted to one of the first ones to Austin’s colony.

My Arrival

We had gotten on the boat and begun our journey. When we got there the land was just beautiful. There was so much land to look at. Our family couldn’t wait to start our lives here.

On our total cost of crops we did $500.00. We got 60 acres of cotton, 15 acres of lumber, and 12.5 acres of cattle. That made our gross income $650.00. We ended that year with $1071.20.

My Conclusion

At the end of the three years we ended up liking Austin’s Colony much better than where we where living before. We ended up staying in San Felipe for the rest of our lives.

My Conclusion

The last 3 ½ years had some hard times. Most towns lost money to the government. Some lost lots and some only lost a little, but not us. We had gotten $600.00. So with that we ended 3 ½ years with $4213.60.
