This image shows our use of the two high tech Canon cameras. One camera, was positioned directly in front of the anchor, so that they were able to make constant eye contact with the audience, making the report personalised to the audience; The audience will feel as though the anchor is speaking directly to them. The anchor will look at this camera when reading out the running order at the beginning and the main story. The second camera was positioned slightly to the right. We decided that cut backs to the studio and the final sign off from the anchors would be filmed from this angle as this would keep the news broadcast interesting for the audience. These fast pace movements from one camera position to another enhances the aspect of professionalism within the report. Next we decided to pin up white backdrop The use of industrial lights for our recording meant that we could adjust the brightness of the studio, either enhancing it or toning it down. Next we decided to pin up white backdrop sheets around the anchors with the intention of preventing shadows being casted on them. This maintained the colour of the set throughout ensuring continuity throughout the news segment.

The use of industrial lights for our recording meant that we could adjust the brightness of the studio, either enhancing it or toning it down. This allowed us to manipulate our studio recordings to a greater extent, making our reports more professional as a result.

These pictures display my positioning of the lighting soft boxes. I positioned one just to the left hand side of the news desk and off-centre. I did this specifically to reduce the glare and over exposure. If the lighting box had been positioned directly in front of the anchor it would have constricted the anchor's eye sight making it harder for them to read off their lines off the board. This would have also created shine on the background causing it to reflect onto the lens, appearing far too bright on the playback. The black material surrounding the lighting box made the light focus towards the anchor and reduced shadowing. The two furthest back lighting soft boxes, were directly facing the white background to make sure that the backdrop of the anchors was well lit and not casting a shadow on the anchors.

The large flat screen television was used to make the set appear as a high tech professional studio environment with the latest digital technology by displaying moving images in the background. The boom microphone originally picked up the smallest of sounds outside of the school classroom to begin with. We counteracted this dilemma by using our time as efficiently as possible, recording when the children were not outside. Although, the boom microphone did allow us to record high quality sound. The room, very purposely, was painted black to combat the natural lighting from windows that otherwise would have interfered with the specific lighting levels we were trying to attain in the studio.
