The use of lines and weird angles

Photomontages

Black and White

Alexander Rodchenko was born in St. Petersburg Russia, and stayed in Russia all through his life. He then continued to study art in Moscow with his family after they had moved in 1914. he then spent the rest of his life producing photos and paintings of Productovist art.

He took a lot of portraits, things of everyday life. I feel that he was trying to portray a feeling of what it was like to live in war times in Europe. Though the strange thing is the people in his photos generally look happy or contempt.

Focusing on the American way of life

Portraits and things

B&W

Born to a wealthy Jewish family, who was forced to move to Switzerland in war times, he then traveled to America as soon as he was of age. He was optimistic about the way of life but then soon saw it as very lonely and sad, so he tried to portray that. He became most famous for his book about America, which criticizes how we live.

His pictures make you feel, they are generally soft and have good contrast. The subjects are always in the middle of an action, and each picture makes fun of one thing that we do, and they all make sense.

Born in Sweden, he was given his first camera at the age of 12. Around his 30s he took a lot of famous people portraits. After he became a scientist he found it necessary to document such things that most people would not have a chance to see.

His pictures are full of very nice colors. They also come with great detail and it is amazing how he is able to capture such images of these objects.

Making a fantasy

Portraits

Both

Being born in 1949 she was lucky enough to be at the perfect age at the beginning of the best rock era ever. She trave;ed around the world taking pictures of the most famous rock bands and was published in huge magazines such as Rolling Stone.

Her pictures share the feeling of a fantasy. When you look at them it isn't something that you'd imagine seeing in your life. I think they are very creative and have very nice colors.

Richard was born in New York City to a Jewish family. His father believed in hard work in strength to create a good life, but Richard wanted expression. He worked his way all they way up to eventually take photos of Marilyn Monroe.

Richards pictures are all portraits, they are made to look fancy or elegant. All Black and White, and generally of celebrities.

Creating a fantasy in photos

Realism

B&W

Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended public schools. He sparked his interest in photography at the age of 14, he believed that with photography you can live outside of yourself.

His work is all in Black and White, and it all has an idea of some sort of fantasy. The images contain a person or everyday object and he connects it with nature, or another spirit world.
