What is a good way to learn to draw realistic looking faces of people with

different mediums?

For this project:

• Researched techniques of well known sketch and graphite artists

• Proportion and perspective

• Accurate Shading

Eyes

• Shadows• Light Reflection• Eyelid shape• Iris color • Eyelash length• How the curve of the eyelid will blend into the

shadows

Noses and Lips/Mouth

• Noses are very different in everybody- considered the most important shape of the face

• Two lips on a person are almost never the same size

Connecting the dots…• Human faces are not symmetric

• Everyone has quirks and unique features on their face

• Measurements are key

• Shading is a big factor in giving depth and life to a human face
