The two institution names I have decided to develop further are ‘Put Your Feet Up’ and

‘What’s The Story’. I will eventually finalise and have only one institution name I will input into my double paged and my poster. I like the ‘Put

Your Feet Up’ idea as I think that it reflects a TV channel that people would relate to as most people sit down at the end of a busy day and put their feet up to watch the TV. The second institution name I have chosen to develop is

‘What's The Story’ I also like this idea for a TV broadcasting channel, in my opinion I think that the name would best be suited if the

channel only televised documentaries, which is perfect for me as I have to create a

documentary.

Put Your Feet Up

For this channel I initially thought that the logo of

the channel could be a pair of feet on a foot stool, however I soon

changed my mind about the foot

stool and decided that the logo

would look more professional if I

just had the feet

This image is an outline of a pair of feet, I think that I will be able to develop this further to

make the logo more relevant to the institution name.

Page 5: Designing my institution logo

Firstly I opened a new

Photoshop file so that I could

create the logo. I then rotated it 90

degrees clockwise so that the page was landscape

Page 6: Designing my institution logo

I then placed both of my images into the Photoshop document and

positioned them side by side.

As you can see there are two layers from inserting two separate images

into my Photoshop file.

So I was then given the option to merge the two layers together, this would help me when I begin to edit

the image, as they would both be on the same layer, making it much

easier to work on

From the image above you can see that both images are now on one layer.

I then wanted to cut out the feet I did this using the magic

wand tool

I began by taking the colour out of the toes.

This was my result when I had finished using the magic wand

tool

Page 8: Designing my institution logo

I then made sure the opacity level was at 100

My next step was to create and effect on the feet, the effect I chose was an

outer glow

You can see the result of the effect to the left

After that I turned the fill level to 11%

This created a shadowy effect, I like the way that the feet now look now I have to experiment on inserting text to the

design.

Page 9: Designing my institution logo

I began to insert my text, I wanted the same effect to be on my writing as what is on the feet.

I used the text tool to create my text each word is on a different layer

because it will be easier to move if I change my mind in the future

I then copied the layer style from the feet and pasted it onto each of the word layer, this was my outcome.

As the shadow is still quite light I put all of the word layers into a group

and duplicated the group so that the shadow became darker
