KentuckyWho We AreThe alliance consists of physicians spouses. These spouses are also nurses, teachers, business leaders, realtors, Ph.D.s, lawyers, and doctors. We are a diverse group whose link is to be married into the family of medicine. What We DoThe alliance exists to help physicians address the various current public health issues and to assure quality health care for our children and grandchildren. The alliance is concerned about the government bureaucracy and the big business influence in the health care field with their denial of care and lack of concern for quality of care.

A Physician’s Wife’s PrayerBy Frances E. Ward

Dear God, please grant me a full awareness of my responsibilities as a helpmate to m physician-husband. Help me to cultivate, practice and love the virtue of unselfishness that he may see in me the perfect wife and helpmate. Teach me to sacrifice my own plans cheerfully when they are inconsistent with his duties to the sick and afflicted, and, lastly sustain me in my efforts to shoulder those responsibilities which are mine to bear, that he may be free to minister to those people entrusted to his care. Amen.

“The American Medical Association Alliance stands ready and eager to partner with the AMA to stanch violence and improve public health,” the Alliance President Colleen Adam told delegates to the AMA Interim Meeting last month.

“As you devote your efforts to your patients, the Alliance can extend those efforts beyond the walls of the office or hospital. We can be like 50,000 pebbles thrown into a pond, each one creating ripples that extend your healing to our communities, our cities and our country.”
