VOCABULARY• Editing- Choosing specific photographs that have

the correct photographic quality and convey the meaning intended.

• Exposure- Photographs have the correct amount of light and time. Film is NOT over or under exposed.

• Saturation-Color in photograph is opaque.• Content- Meaning in any piece of art. What your

photograph is about.• Printing/processing- the act of correcting film for

exposure and color saturation for a final print.

How to Make a Contact Sheet in Photoshop

1. Create a folder on your desktop with all the images from the same project.

2. Open Photoshop3. Go to File4. Choose Automate5. Choose Contact Sheet II6. Under the first box called source images, choose the folder with

your images from the desktop.7. Under document make sure the width and height are 8x10 and

the resolution is 1508. Under thumbnails choose how many columns and rows for a

select number of images per sheet, 5x5 is ideal for viewing and editing

Editing Reflection

Describe your photographs overall1.What were most exposures like? Over? Under?

Perfect? Why?2.Were your colors saturated? Yes? No? Why?3.Did you express the content (principals and

elements) intended in each photograph? Did you shoot with intention or choose later?

4.Finally, choose one photograph. Give the title and describe its exposure, saturation and how well the intention was conveyed.

Photoshop• Photoshop should be used for printing! • Make sure all images are properly exposed in camera!

To import images…1. Open the image.2. Click on image, then click command c to copy the image.3. Open Photoshop-Go to file, new, preset to photo 8x10

landscape or portrait depending on what you need. Click ok.4. Click command v to copy image onto the canvas.5. Go to Image then image size. Deselect resample image.

Adjust the document size. Re-select resample image. Select Bicubic sharper. Click ok.

6. Go to image then to canvas size. Adjust the image size to you needs. Click ok.

TOOL BOX

• Arrow tool-move object• Eye dropper-selects color to be used• Magnifying glass-enlarges image for viewing only.• “Lollipop”- Dodge and burn tool. Add color or take away color from selected areas.• Lasso-Selects everything inside of crop.• “Fish”- Crops or cuts down image.***Remember to hit enter after each function so you can use then next function.
