Prison Ministry Testimony On March 3rd, Al had the opportunity to share his testimony with about forty Buddhist prison chaplains at a two-day conference in Miyazaki. He was asked to talk about what he teaches the inmates who come to his Bible class at the prison. The Buddhist priests listened attentively to how God radically changed Al’s life, and the scripture verses he used to share the Gospel.

This conference was for chaplains from around Kyushu who are part of the main sect of Buddhism in Japan. Some of the organizers heard Al’s testimony at a meeting for Miyazaki chaplains last year, and invited him to share it with their Kyushu colleagues. It’s been exciting to see God expand ministry at the prison to include sharing with prison officials and other chaplains.

Hannah FellowshipWe finished a chapter-by-chapter study of Genesis last February, and are now going through Exodus. Two more Japanese women joined the group this spring. On May 8th we are planning an afternoon out-ing together to visit a large Flower Park in Miyazaki City.

JOY ClubsThe Saturday English/Bible classes for children started a new schedule in April, which is the beginning of the new school year. Two students who couldn’t come last year due to school activities have decided to attend again. The new junior high class has 5-6 members, and there are 4 in the high school class.

We  are  sometimes  surprised  at  who  God  introduces  us  to  at  Cross-‐Culture  Connections              events.    On  May  23rd  we  are  planning  another  culture  exchange  at  Miyazaki  University.    An  MICF  member  from  New  Zealand  will  give  a  country  presentation,  and  there  will  be    English  conversation  opportunities  for  students.    About  40  people  attended  last  year’s  event  and  we’re  looking  forward  to  meeting  more  students  this  year.    Please  pray  for  God  to  direct  the  connections  and  the  conversations  that  take  place  that  afternoon.
