Before I begin, I would like to invite you to thank to Allah,Who has given us Mercy and Blessing, so we can meet together in this ocassion. .

Of course there are variety of reasons and opinions will appears when we hear the question "Is important to learn English?" In your opinion, is important to learn English?

Ladies and Gentlemen

Begin with the question about "is important to learn English?" How important do you think English to learn? We all know that English is one of some international languages that widely used in many country except Arabic, Chinese, and French. English is a language that comes from United Kingdom (UK) and then spread through colonization until Americas which then English was used there. From UK and U.S. who later became a great nation that had a strong influence in all fields, English became the language that widely used today.

And those that make English important as a language Are English is a language that has a special position in 75 countries and is used in more than 100 countries. English also is the international language for business, sports, academics, science, technology, advertising and diplomatic.

Capability of English is very important for us, students of biology. but still many don’t realize it.

for a student, the English language is a prerequisite for obtaining a college degree. of course we have completed the TOEFL test. in our own university the minimum TOEFL score is 475. If our value is under these standards, we must repeat the test untill we have better value. It’s unfortunate if a students have to postpone their sciption because the test value is not enough.

Now, English often used as one of the requirements to obtain a postgraduate scholarship (degree-2 and degree-3). Today, many offer scholarships for scholars in Indonesia. almost all the scholarships that requires mastery of the English language.

That the benefits from learning English. besides to increasing our knowledge, it also can help us to seize the opportunity of education and better jobs.
