Great Man Theory – Carlyle

According to Carlyle, people with a natural gift for intelligence, charm and charisma are the only ones who influence history. The majority of people follow “heroes” who utilize their abilities to make an impact on the world, and it is only because of those individuals that there are great events.

Nietzsche’s Criticism of Democracy

Nietzsche does not follow democracy because the principle behind it that all are equal goes against what he feels is the truth. Humans are not all equal, and those who are gifted with a greater ability should not be suppressed by the ideas and opinions of the many lesser people.
